Shark Bay Scenic Circuit – Useless Loop, Steep Point & Big Lagoon

This spectacular scenic flight over Shark Bay offers incredible views of marine life and dramatic coastal landscapes. As you soar above the pristine waters, there are excellent opportunities to spot sharks, rays, turtles, and, in season, whales and elusive dugongs feeding in the seagrass beds.

The journey begins with a crossing over Freycinet Reach to the striking salt ponds of Useless Loop, followed by a sweep over the sandy Bellefin Prong. From there, the flight traces the rugged Zuytdorp Cliffs, heading north to Steep Point, the westernmost point of mainland Australia. You’ll see where it is separated from historic Dirk Hartog Island by the churning waters of South Passage.

On the return leg, your flight continues over Francois Peron National Park, revealing the stunning colours and patterns of Big Lagoon, before returning to Shark Bay Airport.
