This breathtaking Shark Bay scenic flight begins by passing over Denham township before crossing Freycinet Reach to the vivid salt ponds of Useless Loop. From here, you’ll soar along the towering Zuytdorp Cliffs and reach Steep Point, the westernmost point of mainland Australia, before continuing to Dirk Hartog Island.
As you fly above the shallow coastal waters and seagrass beds, keep an eye out for turtles, dolphins, dugongs, sharks, and manta rays. In season, you may even spot humpback whales or whale sharks, cruising through the pristine marine park.
The route then follows the wild western coast of Dirk Hartog Island National Park, passing Surf Point and Cape Inscription, along the renowned Turtle Bay, and onward to the tip of Francois Peron National Park. Next, you’ll cross over to Cape Peron North and Skipjack Point, both known for their rich marine biodiversity.
Your return journey crosses Francois Peron National Park, flying over the vivid colours of Big Lagoon and Cape Lesueur, before passing the historic Peron Homestead and returning to Shark Bay Airport.
